Great Wall Motors Ltd has assumed control of its vehicle distribution in New Zealand and Australia as of July 1, 2016.

In New Zealand
For many years now Great Wall has enjoyed a reputation worldwide for building tough, reliable, value for money vehicles. Since the New Zealand launch in 2009, thousands of Great Wall vehicles have been sold here.
SETTING THE STANDARD
The Modelling Centre houses a professional design team of more than 300 staff members. It is responsible for the complete modelling of the vehicle development process and is capable of designing up to nine vehicles simultaneously. The team completes the whole process of car modelling, including conceptual design, digital modelling, clay modelling, colour and trim design and VR digital rendering.
Safety Is Standard
Great Wall is committed to continuously improving the safety of our vehicles.
That’s why we incorporate six airbags and the latest Bosch Electronic Stability Program as standard on every model in our line-up.
Statistics show side curtain airbags reduce the incidence of driver death by almost 40 per cent, while ANCAP is on record as stating “no other active safety device has such potential (as ESP) to reduce single car crashes”.
Our engineers adopt the latest CAE design tools to conduct thousands of virtual simulations, supported by full crash tests to develop advanced crash worthiness and integrated safety systems to protect your most precious cargo – your passengers and you.
Reliability & Durability
Great Wall is committed to providing outstanding durability. We use tried and proven technologies in our utes and reject unproven leading edge technologies.
Using reliability risk analysis, robust design, simulation validation, testing and evaluation, Great Wall’s exhaustive testing regime ensures a product that has reliability and durability built-in.
The Great Wall team of engineers work hard to ensure the highest standard driving dynamics under all conditions. Using a variety of assessments including CAE analysis, software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop, our engineers deliver a vehicle that provides a smooth, comfortable ride, with high levels of active safety.
Quiet on the Road
The Great Wall NVH laboratory ensures our vehicles deliver a quiet, comfortable ride. Using vibration noise performance analysis and complete vehicle NVH performance, the team studies key technologies including noise source/vibration excitation identification and separation.
Robotic Body Welding
The Great Wall main body welding production line utilises an internationally advanced production system covering an area of about 67,000 square meters – about three times the size of the MCG! Through state-of-the-art information system management and flexible fixture design, it is possible to manufacture three different car models simultaneously and takes just 10 seconds to transfer from one car model to another.
Automatic Robotic Painting
The Painting workshop covers an area of 20,000 square meters. Filled with the very latest Japanese and European painting robots, it boasts an hourly production rate of 50 units. It’s also environmentally friendly, with automatic spraying section using the A/C return flow to dramatically reduce energy consumption.
The Assembly workshop covers an area of about 86,000 square meters, and is currently the largest workshop in the GWM. It is a flexible production line, realizing mixed production of different car models. Almost 20 million dollars was invested on this assembly workshop, which is capable of producing 250,000 Great Wall units each year.
Constant innovation at Great Wall has resulted in ongoing development of environmentally friendly technologies. By applying energy saving designs and developing ecologically responsive technologies including EV and hybrid powertrains, Great Wall constantly strives to better global emission regulations.
GWM Parts Park
In recent years, GWM has invested heavily in building a parts industry base to design and manufacture numerous auto parts including transmissions, headlamps, steering architecture and braking systems.
Our upstream auto industries form a grand auto industry cluster with an economic scale exceeding 20 billion dollars.
GWM Technology Centre
GWM is dedicated to the pursuit of industrial leadership by investing in the continued development of its product. Since 2006, more than $2 billion dollars has been invested directly into new product, and the company has built new R&D centres in China and Japan employing more than 10,000 employees.
GWM Technology Centre is capable of designing and developing passenger cars, SUVs and pickups as well as the powertrains that drive them. These centres have the ability to develop more than 10 unique models simultaneously, covering specialist areas including modelling, engineering design, CAE and test and trial manufacture.
